There are all kinds of diamonds. Youve got white, black, red, pink and blue. Black diamonds are called carbonados. Most people dont believe they come from earth, although how they got here then beats me. Diamonds of the black variety are only found in some geologic formations in Brazil, believed to be in excess of 1.5 billion years old. They are also found in the Central African Republic. These are regions that are believed to be a single landmass at one time. Concentrations of diamonds are found in the earth in what a geologist would call some of the earths oldest continental regions. They look beautiful still in that condition, rough and uncut as they are. Some people even prefer to have them the way they are perfect. Even an uncut diamond is more beautiful to behold than most other stones that are used to make jewels. You couldnt contaminate it to reduce its quality; you could only clean it up. And as you do, you could lose your soul to it. No one blames anyone for wanting to own a diamond jewel; we all do. Save for those who have never even come close to the gem, everyone wants to own a few diamonds, or at least one. It is why the world is the way it is; ugliness looking for beauty within itself.
